Select The Year Of Your Vehicle Below
The Ford Bronco II was developed in response to the nascent popularity of SUVs. Ford’s competitors were breaking into the new segment with the likes of the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer and the Toyota 4Runner. Introduced in 1983, the Bronco II was not intended to be a successor to the legendary Ford Bronco but was instead an off-roader based on the new Ford Ranger. Although about 800,000 Ford Bronco II units were produced over its seven-year run, it was discontinued in 1990. Along with the Bronco II’s rollover safety concerns, Ford was also preparing to release its new midsize SUV, the Ford Explorer.
For the Ford Bronco II’s last model year, trim options included the XL, XLT, Sport, and the special Eddie Bauer premium package. The Bronco II came standard in rear-wheel drive (RWD), but all-wheel drive (AWD) was also available. All 1990 Bronco II models came with a 140-hp 2,9-liter V6 engine. While the Bronco II had modest power for an SUV, it was relatively good on gas with a combined fuel economy rating of 18 mpg.
How Big Is the Cargo Space in the Ford Bronco II?
The 1990 Ford Bronco II came with a standard cargo volume of 23.8 cubic feet with all seats in place. It was rated with a maximum cargo capacity of 57 cubic feet.
