The Ford Bronco is a legendary Ford SUV and is one of the greatest vehicles of all time. After a 25-year hiatus, it made a comeback for the 2021 model year to jumpstart the sixth generation. From 1966 through 1996, it was sold as a two-door SUV, becoming a full-size SUV starting in 1978. Since returning in 2021, it has been sold as a midsize SUV that rivals the Jeep Wrangler.

Fifth-generation Broncos in the 1990s were two-door full-size SUVs that followed the F-150’s design. These full-size Broncos were sold a couple of years after the demise of the compact Bronco II. The Ford Broncos that preceded a long hiatus came in three engine options. The I6 option was ultimately withdrawn in favor of V8 engines. The 5.0-liter V8 produced an output of 199 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque. Gas mileage was average for its time but low in today’s standards, with 14 mpg combined.

The modern Ford Bronco is much improved, both in terms of performance and fuel economy. With a basic trim, you can get a turbo I4 that produces 300-hp. The twin-turbo V6 boosts power to 330 hp, and going for a Bronco Raptor gets you a jaw-dropping 418 hp. With the base model Big Bend 2 Door, gas mileage comes to 20 mpg combined, which is solid for any SUV. This low trim already comes with impressive inclusions, such as 17-inch carbonized gray aluminum wheels, a 12-inch touchscreen, a leather steering wheel, and seven-speaker audio among other features.
